Betawipost.co.id-Jakarta, 8 November 2018 Film Thugs of Hindostan merupakan film asal India yang disutradarai oleh Vijay Krisna Acharya, diproduseri oleh Aditya Chopra di bawah naungan Yash Raj Film. FiIm Thugs of Hindostan mengusung genre aksi dan petualangan menghadirkan dua nama aktor besar India, Amitabh Bachchan dan Aamir Khan yang tampil sebagai bajak laut juga sederet aktor dan artis Bollywood Iainnya seperti Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh,
Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Ronit Roy, Satyadev Kancharana dan aktor lnggris Lloyd Owen.

Menceritakan kisah fiktif di tahun 1790 dan 1805 pada saat sebagian benua India dikenal dengan sebutan Hindustan. Para Bandit India yang dikenal dengan sebutan Thugs menjadi tantangan serius untuk British East India Company yang telah menguasai sebagian besar negara India.

Film Thugs of Hindostan mengikuti sekelompok Thugs atau Bandit India yang dipimpin oleh pria yang bernama Khudabaksh Azaad (Amitabh Bachchan) yang menimbulkan ancaman serius kepada kekuasaan Perusahaan di India sebab Khudabaksh Azaad bercita-cita untuk dapat membebaskan negara India dari lnggris.

Merasa khawatir akan Bandit India, seorang komandan Inggris yang bernama John Clive (Lloyd Owen) mengirim pria yang bernama Firangi Mallah (Aamir Khan) yang merupakan seorang preman kecil dari Awadh. Firangi Mallah diminta untuk menyusup dan melawan ancaman itu.

Film yang dibuat berdasarkan novel karya Philip Meadows Taylor yang berjudul Confessions of a Thug ini, tidak sekedar menampilkan aksi dan petualangan dari kedua aktor besar India tersebut, penonton juga akan dimanjakan dengan visual effects yang paling spektakuler diperfilman Bollywood. Film Thugs of Hindostan dirilis serempak pada tanggal 8 November 2018 bertepatan dengan perayaan Diwali di India.( Keti )
