Panglima TNI : Prajurit Harus Berjuang Demi Kepentingan Rakyat
Betawipost co.id (Puspen TNI). Rakyat adalah ibu kandung yang melahirkan TNI, oleh karena itu prajurit TNI harus selalu berjuang untuk kepentingan rakyat Indonesia, karena rakyatlah yang memerdekakan Indonesia dengan Sistem Pertahanan Rakyat Semesta. Sejarah pun telah memperlihatkan kepada bangsa Indonesia, betapa hebatnya kekuatan rakyat yang bersatu.
Hal tersebut disampaikan Panglima TNI Jenderal TNI Gatot Nurmantyo dalam pengarahannya dihadapan 2.325 prajurit TNI(Angkatan Darat, Angkatan Laut, Angkatan Udara)se-wilayah Kodam IV/Diponegoro, bertempat di Balai Diponegoro, Semarang, Senin (9/10/2017).
Panglima TNI menegaskan bahwa TNI akan melakukan apapun untuk kepentingan rakyat danwilayah (darat, laut, udara) serta pemerintahan,ketiga komponen tersebut adalah syarat adanya suatu Negara. Disamping itu, TNI juga harus tunduk dan patuh kepada Pemerintah yang dipimpin oleh Presiden RI terpilih secara sah dan berdasarkan hukum atau konstitusi.
Terkait dengan pelaksanaan Pilkada serentak tahun 2018, Panglima TNI menyatakan bahwa TNI harus dapat meraih kepercayaan rakyat yang paling tinggi, karena TNI dan Polri akan menjadi penengah dan penyelesai apabila terjadi konflik. “Dalam kondisi seperti ini, maka TNI dan Polri harus netral dan jangan sekali-kali menyakiti hati rakyat,” tegasnya.
“Kalau kamu (TNI) berpihak pada salah satu kontestan, begitu terjadi konflik maka rakyat tidak mempercayai kamu sebagai penengah. Tetapi apabila kamu benar-benar netral, maka begitu ada konflik mereka percaya bahwa kamu bisa menjadi penengah,” ujar Panglima TNI.
Pada kesempatan tersebut, Panglima TNI Jenderal TNI Gatot Nurmantyo mengingatkan agar para prajurit TNI harus selalu menghormati dan menghargai jasa-jasa para pahlawan, diantaranya dengan melakukan ziarah dan memperbaiki / merenovasi Taman Makam Pahlawan seperti di Baucau dan Dili (Timor Leste). “TNI tidak pernah melupakan jasa-jasa para prajuritnya dimanapun mereka berada, kita kunjungi dan kita ziarahi karena mereka adalah prajurit-prajurit yang terbaik,” ucapnya.
Ditambahkan oleh Panglima TNI bahwa tidak hanya ziarah dan memperbaiki makam saja, tetapi TNI juga memperbaiki dan renovasi 1.300 rumah Veteran menjadi rumah yang layak huni.“Mereka juga tidak kita lupakan, mereka adalah senior-senior kita yang telah meletakkan landasan yang sangat baik, sehingga TNI sangat dipercaya rakyat seperti saat ini, maka kita hormati Veteran-veteran dengan memperbaiki rumahnya menjadi rumah yang layak huni,” pungkasnya.
